Watershed Snapshot 2001

Conodoguinet Creek Watershed and it's Tributaries

In 2001, the Conodoguinet Creek Watershed Association in cooperation with the Cumberland County Conservation District and some Shippensburg University students conducted a water quality snapshot on the tributaries to the Conodoguinet Creek as part of the 2001 Earth Day celebration. Twenty-six tributaries were sampled near their confluences with the Conodoguinet Creek. Nine of the tributaries sampled originate as springs or flow through limestone (carbonate) rocks of the valley and 17 streams sampled originate in the shale rock of North Mountain or the mountain foothills.
